The importance of designing
around value and questions
leaders need to ask.

The module in short

Delivered virtually over one day this module is based on lived experience of leading organisations. It’s focus is to help leaders understand their role when working with organisation design practitioners to deliver and operate a new organisation design.

The module will include practical hands on experiential learning, light touch teaching, and peer discussions. To support the reflectors and non-native English speakers pre-readings will be provided in advance in preparation for the programme and discussions.

  • The day – The day will begin with participants exploring the triggers of organisation design and how design currently gets done in their organisation. We will then share an overview of organisation design, giving people a chance to understand the end-to-end framework and to identify their strengths and opportunities for growth.

Participants will explore the link between strategy and design before discovering how the key tensions highlighted by the Koestenbaum Leadership Diamond® and the idea of Use of Self can impact the successful delivery of a project. Participants will then apply The Tricord an organisation diagnostic and design model to a case study to help build a systemic understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the case organisation. Lastly we will use the Conner Commitment Model to explore the leadership role in holding peoples anxieties for change and to recognise the greater need for commitment than compliance
